From humble beginnings in the local pub in 1859 where two local farmers met and roped the publican in to chair a meeting and plan for the first Whittlesea Fair, the Society has grown to the staging of an annual two day Show which sees crowds of over 50,000.
The Society boasts a membership of over 750 and the Whittlesea Show has grown to become one of the premier Agricultural events in Victoria.
Fourth and fifth generation family’s members are still involved to this very day and volunteering and commitment have been the keys to its success.
